There is something super luxe about velvet. The ultra feminine, super soft fabric is back for the season and in a more versatile way. Designers are using velvet both for red carpet and super chic street looks. Velvet mini dresses are a perfect transition for colder months, making then a must have piece for the glam grunge revival we are seeing for fall. Layer them with long sleeve shirts, turtlenecks (yes turtlenecks) and tights. Finish with tough rugged boots. We love the slouchy velvet pants seen at the Charlotte Ronson show and we are slightly obsessed with the super skinny, legging like velvet pants from Alexander Wang. Both are perfect pieces to add a bit of edginess to your weekday workweek.
