It began in Milan when Bot and Phra, better known as Crookers, met in 2003. They began their career remixing songs for artists like Armand Van Helden, Kid Cudi, Timbaland, Chromeo, Busy P & MURS. Finally the highly anticipated debut album, “Tons Of Friends” released this past week. The album title could not be any further from the truth. With 20 tracks and over 20 guest drops from some of the hotest cutting edge artists from a multitude of genres, the Crookers manage to mash it all up and have it come out seamlessly. The album features collaborations with Kelis, Will.I.AM, Major Lazer, Miike Snow, Roisin Murphy, Rye Rye, Drop The Lime, Spank Rock, Pit Bull, and Steed Lord, to name a few. “Tons Of Friends” is a big fat party from start to finish. Where else are you going to find Reggaeton mixed with funk, or Pop vocals mixed over B-more breaks?
